How Can an Egyptian Citizen Obtain a Visa to Russia?
Step 1. Determine the type of visa you need for your trip.
1.1. Tourist visa to Russia for Egyptian citizens:
- if the purpose of your visit is tourism;
- your actual stay in the Russian Federation will not exceed 30 days.
1.2. Business visa to Russia for Egyptian citizens:
- if your purpose of visit is business or commercial;
- you need a visa for a longer stay of 1 month to 1 year;
- you need a visa for multiple entries.
1.3. Work visa to Russia for Egyptian citizens:
- if you plan to work officially in the Russian Federation.
1.4. Private visa to Russia for Egyptian citizens:
- to visit relatives or family members;
- planning to stay in a private residence – an apartment or a house;
- the stay in Russia is single-entry and up to 3 months.
Step 2. Obtain an invitation for an Egyptian citizen to enter Russia.
As of 29.11.2023, according to an internal directive of the Migration Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow, the issuance of business visa invitations for Egyptian citizens has been suspended.

Step 3. Collect the required documents.
IMPORTANT: The Consular Section of the Russian Embassy in Egypt now processes only electronic visa applications filled out in Russian or English and printed via the official website of the Consular Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The standard package includes:

At the consulate, you will be offered several processing options for a visa to Russia for an Egyptian citizen:
- standard (processing time 4–20 working days);
- urgent (1–3 working days).

Step 4. Register upon arrival in Russia.
Please note that registration is mandatory if your stay exceeds 7 working days (excluding the day of arrival). Registration must be done at the actual place of residence of the guest.
