Documents for a work permit

The procedure for submitting documents for a work permit has a number of nuances. If one of the conditions is not met or there is a mistake in the forms, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will not accept the application.

Filing documents for a work permit

When collecting and preparing the necessary documents for obtaining a work permit, you should remember the following rules:

1. Documents will be required from both the prospective foreign employee and from the employing company.
2. Applications written on behalf of a legal entity and all documents submitted by it are to be signed by a manager or another person with the authority to sign.
3. An original or a copy of a document consisting of two or more pages must have the pages numbered and stitched with a corresponding note on the back of the last page.
4. Documents in a foreign language must be accompanied by a notarized translation. Travelmart will take care of it for an additional fee.
5. It is unacceptable to use outdated work permit forms. Application forms for issuing a work permit can be found in Appendix No. 1 to the Order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs No. 637.

The list of documents for the work permit

1. Application for a work permit from a foreign citizen - 2 copies.
2. Guarantee letter of employer's liability – single copy.
3. Application form from the employer - 2 copies.
4. Payment receipt with a bank stamp of the paid state duty. We will provide the details for payment. Read more about the state duty in the section «The amount of state duty and the price of a work permit ».
5. Power of attorney for a company representative - 2 copies.
6. Notarized passport translation – single copy.
7. One 3.5x4.5 cm photo of a foreign citizen. The photo must be coloured, on a blue or grey background, and matte.
8. Medical certificate with the conclusion of a narcologist proving that the applicant tested negative for HIV, tuberculosis, syphilis, leprosy, chlamydial granuloma and chancroid.
9. Voluntary health insurance policy
10. If the applicant doesn’t have a there diploma of higher or secondary education received in the Russian Federation or the former RSFSR, then a certificate of passing the Russian language, history and law exam is needed.
11. Original copy of the Permission to attract foreign labour + one copy.

After filing the documents, a work permit will be issued in 14 working days. A representative of Travelmart with the power of attorney will receive the permit for you. The permit is a small plastic card with the personal data of a foreign citizen - see the photo of the work permit samples.
